Yellow Fever

Yellow FeverThis viral infection, which usually attacks the liver, is transmitted by mosquitoes. It occurs only in Central and South America and in some parts of Africa.

Seizures of yellow fever can be mild, but also deadly. A mild attack is accompanied by symptoms similar to flu symptoms. Symptoms of severe cases are nausea, vomiting, bleeding, abdominal pain and yellowing of the skin due to jaundice. The patient can be very depressed and distracted, and even coma can occur. As with many viral diseases, there is no specific cure for yellow fever. However, a person who has got over yellow fever is immune for life.
