Pulmonary Stenosis and Insufficiency

Pulmonary Stenosis and InsufficiencyAcquired disorders of the pulmonary valve, usually caused by rheumatic fever, are rare, and account for 2% of all heart defects caused by rheumatic fever.

Pulmonary stenosis and insufficiency can only be detected during a routine medical examination. If the pulmonary valve is severely damaged, your doctor will recommend surgery to replace the valve.
